This year Foodivine was lucky enough to be a part of the amazing event Table of Hope that works to raise money to help local youth and poverty-stricken families have enough to eat. Guests buy tickets for the event (100% of the proceeds go to Share the Warmth foundation), and local restaurateurs gather to share their food. We were the food photographer at the event, so we got some amazing shots of the delicious food that guests were able to eat while raising money for a good cause.

Our Set Up at The Windsor Ballrooms
The gorgeous Windsor Ballrooms worked as the perfect venue for us to shoot, and we set up a booth that allowed chefs to send their favourite dishes over for us to photograph. It always feels good to give back to the community, and we were so happy to see so many chefs and restauranteurs so excited about the end result. This was the first time a local food photographer has done something like this at Table of Hope, so we got to innovate and network with some of the greatest food brands in all of Montreal.

Shooting Variety
The only challenging aspect of the event was that there were so many different kinds of foods to shoot – each with their own important qualities. Even as a trained food photographer it takes focus to properly place, adjust and photograph different dishes especially when everything is happening very quickly. Every photo we take should look like a poster from the moment we take them. Almost as proud as we are to be involved in something that gives back to the community that we live in – that feeling alone is priceless.
